FOUNDER + PRINCIPLE
The firm is directed by Robert J. Scott, AICP, LEED AP who has worked in the public and private planning sectors for over 20 years. Mr. Scott has his certification in the planning field by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Dedicated to sustainable building practices, Mr. Scott is also a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional, the U.S. Green Building Council’s indicator of the most qualified, educated, and influential green building professionals in the industry. In addition to his professional consulting work, Mr. Scott teaches planning and zoning courses as a part of a professional certification program for municipal code compliance officers.
As the saying goes, “Think Globally, Act Locally.” RJS acts locally by supporting the Torrey Pines Association. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is located within San Diego city limits and yet remains one of the wildest stretches of land on our Southern California coast. Because of the efforts and foresight of the people in this area, 2000 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed – with the chaparral plant community, the rare and elegant Torrey pine trees, miles of unspoiled beaches and coastal bluffs, and the Los Penasquitos Lagoon.
The Torrey Pines Association was founded in 1950 to encourage public interest in, and support for, the preservation of the rare Torrey pine trees and their scenic refuge. We contribute a portion of our proceeds to the Torrey Pines Association toward the preservation, education, and social programs efforts at Torrey Pine State Reserve.
